Vehicle Warranty

Should you consider an auto service contract? Are they “really” a good idea?

I am sure that you have seen the TV commercials, received a post card, or perhaps have receivd an “official looking” letter stating your auto warranty is about to expire and they are offering service warranties / contracts for your used car or truck that will pay for repairs. Is this a good idea? Such service contracts have been around for many years and can be a GREAT idea. Unfortunately, many of these current offers are coming primarily from three companies: Mogi (getmogi.com), USFidelis (USFidelis.com) and StopRepairBills.com that have received a grade of “F” by the Better Business Bureau due to customer complaints. All of these companies are in the business to make money; they are not going to fix your car for free.

According to the advertising…Some companies say you can take your vehicle to any shop and get it fixed and you don’t have to pay anything, but this is not necessarily true. There is usually a deductible and a waiting period before you can make a claim. You also are required to maintain your vehicle according to the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule and have documents to verify that you have followed the maintenance schedule as recommended. These are only a few of the loopholes that these companies know that the general public will not follow to the letter. Plus, there are many weak parts in every vehicle they refuse to cover and they will write a policy excluding the bits and pieces most likely to fail (read the fine print). Most customers who have bought these service contracts have paid between $2,000 - $4,000 and often paid $500 down, with the balance financed through the company with interest.

Many of our customers have called or stopped in and asked us about these offers and claims. In response to the high demand and to prevent our customers from being taken advantage of by these other companies, we are offering our first ever SALE on Mechanical Repair Agreements. The companies we work with have been in business for a long time and actually have been ranked an “A” by the Better Business Bureau. Click here for BBB details.

Manufacturer’s original warranties are great, but typically don’t cover vehicles that are in the repair phase of their life. AAA says that most vehicles are in need of repairs from 40,000 – 100,000 miles. Doesn’t it make sense to cover your vehicle during the time when it may actually break down? This offer entitles you to $300 off any applicable Mechanical Repair Agreement. In addition to this outstanding offer, we are offering 0% APR financing on ALL Mechanical Repair Agreements. Best part of this offer? NO vehicle sale is required! NO credit application is required for the 0% APR finance offer! AND…These plans can be sold to ANY MAKE & ANY MODEL!!

You are probably wondering, what do the plans in this offer include?

  • Full Roadside Assistance
  • Fuel Delivery
  • Lockout Service
  • Tire Change
  • Towing and Rental Cars
  • ….and, you can choose between a $0 deductible OR a $100 deductible plan.

Realistically one day in the shop could easily add up to the cost of our BEST plan. Plus, with the rising costs of parts and labor, purchasing a plan today will lock you into today’s rates for the term of the plan. You will no longer have to worry about what the cost of repair will be tomorrow. We have found that with the current economic climate, our valued customers are holding onto their existing vehicles longer…so, isn’t now the time you need to evaluate your best course of action to protect your immediate needs and eliminate the possibility of an unexpected out-of-pocket expense for a repair bill? Purchasing a plan today will give you peace of mind until you are ready to replace your existing auto. By the way, if you decide to trade-in or sell your auto before the Mechanical Service Contracts expires, these agreements are easily transferable or cancelable with a pro-rated refund….so you haven’t “wasted your money”.

Have questions? Need additional details? Please feel free to pick up the phone, send me a quick email, or stop by the store to discuss your options. We encourage you to consider the purchase of a Mechanical Repair Agreement and take advantage of our first SALE on these mechanical contracts! Don’t forget our offer to save $300 during this promotion!

“Happy motoring and be safe on the road.”
